Hayley is an American performer and actress. A lot of people recognize her from her character as Erica Goldberg on the popular comedy television series The Goldbergs.' However, she considers herself mostly an artist. Music, according her, is the first thing she is passionate about. She began playing with it at age nine. After she turned 12 years old, music was taken seriously enough, that she started professionally trained. When she was 13, she started writing herself songs. The album that she first released didn't come out until 14 years later. The music hasn't budged around since. Orrantia is a native of America, but has Hispanic heritage. Although she was raised speaking only English and never lived in Mexico she's extremely proud of her Hispanic heritage. Her goal is to preserve the culture by writing Spanish songs, and also taking classes in the Spanish language. The most famous of these songs is "Hasta Verte," which she recorded in Spanish. Orrantia was chosen to be an audition for The X Factor's first season, which aired in summer 2011. Orrantia was selected from the submission of a YouTube video submission and received 4 "yes" vote from the judge in the live audition stage at Seattle, Washington. At first, she auditioned as a soloist, she as well as three female vocalists were placed in the final auditions of "Hollywood Week". The live performances were held during the week of 5th.
