Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. When she was a kid Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by American citizens of all races. It was during her ninth year that she started to feel more confident after receiving a rousing ovation during an audition. The singer not only gained confidence because of the experience however, she also re-evaluate her career goals. When she was 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23 years old, she launched her career in Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, aged 23 her first film debut was You've got mail. But her biggest break came when she appeared in the part in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway performance of Spamalot receiving not just her the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy on ABC, she gained greater recognition. A well-known performer, she has also recorded songs and plays. She is an activist who works tirelessly to promote LGBT equality.
